The Saltz Education Center will be running a seminar from Thursday, January 15th - Sunday, January 18th at Southgate & District Reform Synagogue in London. The European Region of the WUPJ and The Anita Saltz Education Center's Prayer and Spirituality Winter Institute with Rabbi Rich Kirschen & Rabbi Levi Weiman-Kellman is an excellent opportunity to catch up with old acquaintances, make new friends and create a dynamic framework for deep Progressive Jewish study.

*The seminar cost is £85 per person, this will cover dinner on Thursday, lunch and dinner on Friday, lunch on Saturday and lunch on Sunday.

(Saturday evening costs are not included). Travel costs and any other accommodation will be paid for by the participant.

Rabbi David Wilfond is the Regional Director of Admissions at the Hebrew Union College in Jerusalem.  He lead's the HUC's "Rabbinic Infusion Project" which provides rabbis and rabbinical students to Reform Jewish Congregations throughout the Former Soviet Union. From 1997-1999 Rabbi Wilfond served as the only Reform rabbi in the FSU and was based in Kiev. He was the founding rabbi of the Association of Progressive Congregations in Ukraine. Prior to making Aliyah in 2004, Rabbi Wilfond served as a congregational rabbi in Boston for 5 years.  Today, he is the rabbi of the Murstein Synagogue in Jerusalem.

Rabbi Rich Kirschen had the honour last year of being the oldest private in the Israeli army when he finished his military service. This experience allowed him to go beyond the headlines and to undergo one of the critical experiences that mould Israelis and consequently the Jewish State. As the director of the Anita Saltz International Education Center at the World Union for Progressive Judaism where he teaches among other things - "Like All the Nations? Understanding: Public Culture, Sovereignty and Religion in the Jewish State."  Before making aliyah to Israel he served as a Hillel director in the US. For eight years. He was the executive director of the Hillel at Brown University in Providence, RI. Prior to that, he was associate director of the University of Michigan Hillel in Ann Arbor, MI. He lives in Jerusalem with his wife Cara Saposnik a documentary filmmaker, their three children Gili, Liron and Ayal and their dog Michigan.

The Anita Saltz International Education Center is an innovative initiative of the World Union for Progressive Judaism. The Saltz Center combines liberal Jewish study with unique and meaningful experiences both in Israel and around the world all within the context of Progressive Judaism.
