£800 + £400 donation to KOP (price includes £100 scholarship from
Jeneration and is only available to the first 10 applicants that pay
their deposit) Limited places available through application process. £500 Deposit to secure a place
The structure of the programme is divided into modules:
Observational activities: government hospital ward rounds, home based
care visits, PLWHA (people living with HIV/AIDS) support groups.
Volunteer activities: street children centre, children’s/feeding centre, primary/secondary school
Physical activities: building, agriculture, specific project tasks
Educational activities: international health and development lectures and workshops
Trip highlights also include:
- Go wild on safari
- Trek through the rain forest
- Take a dip in Lake Victoria
- Chill out with a couple of African beers in some local bars
Costs:
Each individual is expected to raise a total of £400 through
fundraising activities. 100% of monies raised as the fundraising target
go towards the allocated project.
KOP would normally expect a minimum of £750 prior to the trip, so each
participant will be expected to continue to fundraise a further £350
upon return of the trip.
The total cost of the programme is approximately £900 and is expected
to be additionally raised by each participant. This includes the cost
of flights and living expenses, which are made up of accommodation,
food, transport in and around Kisumu and airport transfers, security,
and insurance to cover all activities including any manual work.
