World Jewish Relief International Development Programme Intern

WJR: A Jewish Lifeline WorldwideWorld Jewish Relief (WJR) is the UK's leading charity providing international humanitarian and development assistance on behalf of the UK Jewish Community. Its vision today is to provide help wherever there is a need to vulnerable communities throughout the world.

We are looking to recruit an intern to join our busy International Programmes team and assist WJR in monitoring grants, strengthening programming and growing our resource base. Based in our north London office, the internship involves at least one overseas visit to one of our projects, a structured programme of formal and informal training and is a unique entry point for someone seeking to gain work experience in the International Development sector. Working as part of a small team and with the support of senior management, you will learn about the practicalities of project and grant management, research and proposal formulation, budget setting and monitoring.

In return we are looking for between three and five full days unpaid work a week for 6 months – with travel, lunch and training course expenses paid.  We need a highly motivated enthusiastic individual with exceptional interpersonal skills who is willing to get "stuck in" and help us make a difference to peoples' lives.

For an application form and further details please email This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it - closing date for applications is 31st July 2009. As this post is UK based, non-EU nationals will require current and valid permission to work in the UK.

Further details and information on WJR's work can be found at the World Jewish Relief website.
