UJIA Jewish Social Responsibility Manager
UJIA is seeking a Jewish Social Responsibility Manager to lead the UJIA Jewish Social Responsibility in Jewish Life Unit, developing its work plan and budget, creating a variety of programming and curricular materials, devising and running a wide range of educational seminars and activities, actively encouraging practical involvement in Jewish responsibility projects, raising awareness and interest in its work, and developing recognition schemes to appreciate the contribution of Jewish young people.

Responsibilities:

  1. Further the development of the conceptual thinking and framework behind the work (including the study of best practice around the Jewish world) and translate it into a deliverable, high quality, budgeted plan with measurable targets;
  2. Be the leading advocate and champion of this area of UJIA work for Jewish young people across all relevant educational settings (both formal and informal);
  3. Develop the educational aspects of the UJIA myfund programme, working with the myfund project co-ordinator to engage with participants and stakeholders in this programme.
  4. Engage with all relevant partner organisations (youth and student groups, schools, shuls, etc.) to ensure a high degree of involvement with the work of the Unit;
  5. Represent the UJIA and the Unit in relevant communal frameworks and with the relevant communal partners (e.g. Jewish Social Action Forum)
  6. Develop first class educational programming and curricular materials to further the work of the Unit;
  7. Develop effective resources for the promotion of the Unit and engagement with its work;
  8. Organise and participate in educational seminars and programmes for the field;
  9. Enable others to champion, educate and increase activism in this field;
  10. Support partner organisations in the practical delivery of social action projects that generate the active participation of young people;
  11. Further develop the Yoni Jesner Award Scheme, recognising the contribution of young people in this work.

Person Specification:

You will:

1.    Have proven experience of the ability to develop and implement projects in an educational setting
2.    Have a keen interest and enthusiasm in furthering the awareness and the work of social action throughout the Jewish community
3.    Be highly motivated to succeed
4.    Have the ability to use your initiative
5.    Have the ability to work well with a wide range of people in formal and non-formal educational settings, as well as with lay and communal leaders
6.    Be very well organised with a good sense of time management
7.    Have a good understanding of the UK Jewish community

Reporting Structure:

You will report to the Director of Research and Evaluation

Hours:

This is a full time position. Regular office hours are 9.00am – 5.30pm Monday to Thursday and 9.00am - 1.30pm on Fridays.
The nature of the work will require some evening and weekend work.
