Tibetan Jewish Youth Exchange
Tibetan Jewish Youth Exchange are seeking enthusiastic and interested people for roles on the new TJYE leadership team.

A message from Marc Bergen and Anna Freedman, two of the charity's trustees:

"Tibetan Jewish Youth Exchange are a small charity that facilitates cultural exchanges between the Jewish and Tibetan diasporic communities, and which particularly focuses on links between the Jewish and Tibetan youth movements. For more information please see the TJYE website.

The trustees have decided to create an exciting, new leadership to organise and run TJYE's day-to-day activities and events and set TJYE's direction for the next five to ten years, using the trustees for support, advice and as a useful sounding board. Activities could include any of the following:

  • educational initiatives on Tibet in schools and campuses
  • working with the Jewish youth movements to have Tibet included as part of their social action day on camp
  • participation in Free Tibet and other campaigns
  • organising leadership exchanges i.e. for Tibetan youth movement leaders from India to come over to the UK and Jewish leaders from the UK to volunteer on Tibetan youth movement camps in both the UK and India
  • organising inter-faith events with the local UK Buddhist community
  • carrying out an awareness campaign about Tibet amongst British Jews.

But ultimately it would be for the new TJYE leadership to decide what direction to take TJYE and what activities to do.

We are seeking enthusiastic and interested people for the following roles on the new TJYE leadership:

  • Joint-President
  • Fundraising Officer(s)
  • PR Officer (s)
  • Marketing Officer(s)
  • Web Officer(s)
  • TJYE Secretary
  • Youth Movement Exchange Officer(s)
  • Tibetan Community Liaison Officer(s)
  • Jewish Community Liaison Officer(s)

If you are interested in taking on any of these exciting roles (or would simply like to be a part of the new TJYE leadership without an official 'title') please get in touch. All you would need to give are your ideas, your energy and some commitment to making things happen."
