The Open Talmud Project is back for 2010! (following its huge succcess in 2009) It's going to take pace from Thursday July 22nd to Sunday July 25th, in the Hampstead Garden Suburb/Golders Green area. Approximate timings will be 9:30-5:30 Thursday, Friday, Sunday, and on Shabbat 2:00 - 10:00. The aim of the Open Talmud Project is to create a 4 day intensive, multi-denominational Jewish learning experience. Think Pardes (Jerusalem) or Hadar (New York) right here in London. The format will be Talmud in the morning at a range of levels from total beginners to more advanced. The length of the programme and the emphasis on chavruta study means people will really be able to really grapple with the text. In the afternoon, there will be a wide-range of courses from Heschel's philosophy to contemporary halachic issues. We have some of the best teachers around signed up: Chaim Weiner, Jeremy Gordon, Matt Plen, Laliv Clenman, Jonathan Wittenberg, Rafi Zarum, Judith Rosen-Berry... more to follow. Last year, the atmosphere was very dynamic with a real sense of community created. Whilst this isn't a residential, we'lll go out for a meal or two in the evening, and spend Friday night and Shabbat afternoon together - last year this proved to be very special. The cost will be £79 per person (The Open Talmud Project is heavily subsidised by Marom and Jeneration ).
