The Jewish Committee for the London Games (JCLG) is seeking a part-time intern for 6 months to
assist with its various project streams.
The Jewish Committee for the London Games (JCLG) is a committee set up by the London Jewish Forum (LJF), Maccabi GB, the UJIA along with Lord Janner in 2008 to ensure that the London’s Jewish community is fully engaged with the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2012. The group is aiming to work with Jewish schools and their communities in meeting Jewish Olympians; the development of welfare, culture and religious services for Jewish athletes in the Olympic Village; a London 2012 Jewish website and a programme of hospitality for visitors to the Games; the long-term legacy for the Jewish community within the five Olympic Boroughs and utilising sports to bring groups together and celebrate the cultural diversity of the city. The London Jewish Youth Task Force, which represents 19 youth projects (23.000 individuals), has since joined the JCLG. The JCLG is seeking to take on a part-time intern for 6 months to assist with its various project streams key to the JCLG’s work. This is an opportunity for someone completing a Masters or a recent graduate to gain experience of working with communities, sports and relevant branches of government. The post will be based near the South Bank / Bankside for 2 days a week, and begin in September 2010. A small stipend to cover expenses will be paid.
