Not Your Average Jewish Family in Liverpool |

A Jeneration workshop for those with both Jewish and non-Jewish family members in Liverpool.
More and more Jews belong to families which have both Jewish and non-Jewish members: mixed faith couples, Jewish children with one non-Jewish parent, adult children of Jewish fathers, Jewish children adopted into non-Jewish families, Jewish grandparents of non-Jewish grandchildren, adult converts to Judaism – the possibilities are many and various.
Jeneration will be holding a workshop for those with both Jewish and non-Jewish family members in Liverpool on Sunday, March 13th 2011 from 1.30 – 4.30 p.m. at Liverpool Hope University. The workshop is for couples and individuals of all ages and is open to both Jewish and non-Jewish family members.
In 2010 Jeneration ran two workshops in Leeds for those with both Jewish and non-Jewish family members. Participants shared their experiences and discussed ways of moving forward. People were keen to hear others express their feelings and speak positively about their (sometimes complicated) family circumstances. Practical solutions to some problems were shared and people welcomed the opportunity to talk about what is considered by some to be a taboo subject.
One of the participants commented: “I felt reassured that I’m not alone, that others are in similar situations.” Another said: “The workshop helped me work out the first step to take in making my situation easier.”
The workshop is £10 per person. Booking is essential - everyone is welcome. Closing date for bookings 31st January 2011
