About Us

Our Vision:

Jews in their twenties are equipped and empowered to be authors of their own Jewish lives.

Our Mission:

Jeneration was established in 2007 to provide a place to question, explore and learn together through study, pray and travel. Jeneration also seeks out and works with Jews to support them in creating new initiatives and developing their own visions of Jewish life.

Jeneration's Values

areivimJeneration creates an environment of inclusivity for all Jews, regardless of gender, sexual orientation and halachic status; we value programmes and spaces that are egalitarian and inclusive. We strive to create an environment where people who have different practices and observances can learn and travel together, despite us all having radically different needs as Jews.

lech lechaJeneration is unique in focusing on the individual’s journey; we understand that at times during our lives we question and need to explore Jewish tradition in order to gain personal meaning and relevance. We know that personal informed decisions are paramount to sustained commitment. We believe that while the individual’s journey is paramount, a Jewish journey takes place with others; and therefore we bring people together, so that they can be enriched by each others’ journeys.

zilgmor.jpgJeneration is interested in Jewish engagement; we value serious engagement with Judaism more than we do labels and definitions. We provide an open framework to experience and engage with Jewish life, which empowers individuals to make personal choices about how they think, feel and act as Jews. We value the dynamic tension that can come from embracing wisdom no matter where it is found.

elu v'eluJeneration seeks to enhance the diverse Jewish landscape; we are excited by an emerging communal landscape in which new ideas and approaches to Jewish life are proliferating. We respect and value a multiplicity of expressions of Jewish commitment and religious practice and support the creation of more and diverse pathways. We embrace the risk inherent in this, and encourage people to pursue ideas despite the uncertainty.
