Shabbat Shira takes place on the first and third Friday of every month, beginning at 7:15pm at West London Synagogue. Almost the entire service is sung with wonderful accompaniment from the Shabbat Shira band. The tunes range from Klezmer to Sephardi, from Carlebach to Modern American rock; and no two services are ever the same. Services are led by Rabbi Danny Burkeman or Rabbi Debbie Young-Somers and our wonderful Shabbat Shira band including Mark Greenfield on drums, Drew Salida on flute and guitar, Francesca Ter-Berg on cello and Maurice Meyer on violin. Shabbat Shira is open to Jews of all ages, but with a special focus on people who are in their 20s and 30s. If you are interested in joining us please come along, and if you want more details call Rabbi Danny on 020 7535 0265 or e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it |

West London Synagogue was founded in 1840, the first Reform Synagogue in Britain. Today it is a thriving community of 4,000 men, women and children, maintaining its ethos of Jewish tradition and modernity. Running through our Synagogue is a strong sense of community - some families have been members for three or four generations. Yet that does not mean we live in the past. With our dynamic Rabbinical, professional and lay team, we are pursuing fresh ideas with energy and inspiration. |
