Please keep Sunday October 3rd free for Gefiltefest, an epic, full day of events dedicated to food: Jewish traditions, ethics and history - and plenty of tastings too. Featuring: - Four chefs who will be giving food talks and demonstrations: Denise Phillips on 'Cooking for Shabbats'; Judy Jackson on 'Why children should play with their food"; Silvia Nacamulli and Lisa Roukin Chocolate demonstration and tasting Maureen Kendler on the history of kosher cookbooks 'Up, Up and Away: the Ethics of Shechita' with Rabbi Natan Levy Rabbi Jeremy Gordon and Oliver Samuel, President of the London Board for Shechita Ariel Kahn on food in Jewish literature Leon Pein on organic kosher food Challah baking workshop Urban beekeeping and honey talk Hazon and Tzedek debates on sustainability and food in the Torah Raffle for a signed Claudia Roden book, signed Ottolenghi book, the Jewish Princess cookery titles, delicious sauces and tapenades from Rosie Benshushan plus numerous other prizes More speakers/ debates to be announced Tickets will be £15 in advance (if bought before August 27th) and £20 for a limited number on the day. Even if you can't make it, please make a donation! All the profits will be donated to two food charities - the Bet Shean Foodbank and Leket. We are aiming to raise £1500 this year and £5000 next year. We are limited to 150 tickets but please forward this to anyone that you think might want to come or help out, on or before the day. Please note that the ingredients used for demonstrations will be kosher but the event is not under supervision.

MoHoLo aka Moishe House London, in Willesden Green, was founded in October 2007. As a Moishe House it is part of a worldwide network of houses that double up as centres of grassroots Jewish community. From our own home, we bring exciting, creative, non-denominational Jewish community to London, also welcoming and supporting our local community.
