Fun as folks can be, the things they pass down through years of traditions are sometimes absurd, dark, and gory. And also sweet, sad, and funny. And what an excellent start to your autumn season: with a cosy quilt of cockeyed creations! Open Arts Café is an evening of new work from young artists. For the next two months, our artists will be looking at folk traditions from around the world and flipping them over and around and upside-down. So come join us in this first of a two-part folk season at Open Arts Café! Location description:
West London Synagogue was founded in 1840, the first Reform Synagogue in Britain. Today it is a thriving community of 4,000 men, women and children, maintaining its ethos of Jewish tradition and modernity. Running through our Synagogue is a strong sense of community - some families have been members for three or four generations. Yet that does not mean we live in the past. With our dynamic Rabbinical, professional and lay team, we are pursuing fresh ideas with energy and inspiration.
